Re:  August 19th Article, “Boeing’s C-17 end would hit in Mesa”

Dear Editor,

In defense of the C-17 Workers [5,500 in Long Beach, and the 200 Boeings in Mesa]; the Engineers, Contracting and Purchasing; Assembly Crews, Middle Management, and all the Subcontractors [65 Local Phoenix Companies/1000 jobs], The Steel and Plastic Suppliers, The Electronic Supply Houses, The Heat Treaters, the Welding companies, the EDM companies, the Platers, The Cutting Tool Suppliers, The INSPECTORS, and all the State [EPA, OSHA] and Federal Jobs [DCIS, DCASR], the Pilots, etc…

“Boeing is the world's leading aerospace company [28 Billion Dollar Merger with McDonnell Douglas in 1996, after the CATIC fiasco, (2/3 Worlds Commercial Airlines and ½ of the US Military Production)] and the largest manufacturer of commercial jetliners and military aircraft combined, with capabilities in rotorcraft, electronic and defense systems, missiles, satellites, launch vehicles and advanced information and communication systems.”

“Headquartered in Chicago, Illinois, U.S.A., Boeing employs more than 153,000 people in some 67 countries. This represents one of the most diverse, talented and innovative workforces anywhere. More than 83,800 of our people hold college degrees--including nearly 29,000 advanced degrees--in virtually every business and technical field from approximately 2,800 colleges and universities worldwide. Our enterprise also leverages the talents of hundreds of thousands more skilled people working for Boeing suppliers worldwide.”

Earlier this year, there major efforts by Karg/Harman/Boxer/O’Neil/Schwarzenegger/Halter to insure the production---remains up and running in Long Beach, California—were successful against Rumsfeld’s Pentagon, even Governor Taft in Ohio got involved with other Governors.  I even hand delivered a package of information to my Rep. Ed Pastor, requesting his involved [C-17 Production and “Six Ports/CFIUS-- DP World Deal with UAE/Carlyle Group”/“Deutsche Bank acted as financial adviser to Dubai Ports International and Citigroup acted as financial adviser to CSX with respect to the transaction,” for more info see "Time Magazine" 3/13/2006].

So why is this “amazing” company so “diverse” -- going to close the doors on one of it’s best products, if our government at this time does not purchase more C-17 Cargo Jets for the Future, as major war approaches?  Even the guys [Nam Vets] mowing the yards in my neighborhood understand---this action, is going in the wrong direction---“we need those planes.”  Thomas Paine wrote "Common Sense" in 1775 and published it in January of 1776, I am sure his words are still vital after 230 years, “Time makes more converts than reason.”

There are a few nations in Europe, who are not as confused, nor distracted, and everyone in the world knows this C-17 is a good product from the United States of America.  After the few Billions the U.S. just gave Austria through Steyr-Daimler-Puch/General Dynamics---they have cash to spend [also see Steyr-Daimler-Puch Procurement Scandal in Bangkok (BMA)/Mitsubishi/General Dynamics/contract worth Bt6.8 billion].

Boeing, if you need a Salesman, call Karg—I am easy to find, I am now a “frequent” candidate, connections can be made to sell a few planes in European Block which will keep your 700 Suppliers alive in America-Latin Block, as WWIII rhetoric is being tossed around on our National Air Waves by Newt “Getrich,” James Woolsey, and there are others like www.threeworldwars.com/world-war-3/ww3.htm or www.savethemales.ca/000154.html.

Boeing, “think out of the Box!”  And don’t think like the Talk Show Host on the Radio back in 2002 [Karg vs. Barnert], who basically stunned this candidate by stating, like a High School Kid, who cares about Aerospace Manufacturing here in Valley, it is not important.

Thank you for the Article about the C-17 it was very informative, you might want to brush off the dust on my October 31, 1991, article I had hand delivered, “Flirting with Disaster,” also review Maryann Keller’s "Rude Awakening": The Rise Fall and Struggle for Recovery of General Motors [Deutsche Bank major stockholder]—written back in 1989.  Does this Bank hold any stocks in Boeing?

Sincerely,

Don Karg
